Here is what I’m reading rn and LOVED! (In no particular order bc they are all so different!)
Okay, after reading this book I’ve made my whole life goal to just get enough sleep!!! my #1 MUST READ BOOK!!!
“Sleep is the single most effective thing we can do to reset our brain and body health each day — Mother Nature’s best effort yet at contra-death.”
This was probably one of my favorite books I’ve read! It’s written so well. It’s so witty and kept me guessing the whole time.
“It’s always very easy to declare that other people are idiots, but only if you forget how idiotically difficult being human is.”
I talk about it all the time. SOOO GOOD but I’ll just leave this quote here!
“Chills ran up my arms. The hairs on my neck stood up for an instant, I felt like I was falling in love, or had just heard alarming news, or was looking over a precipice at something beautiful & mesmerizing, but dangerous…. This is what it feels like when an idea comes to you.”
SO GOOD. I talk about this book all the time!!! It really hit home for me and I plan to read it again! SO many life lessons in these pages!
“Ultimately, social anxiety is the fear that whatever we’re trying to hide will be revealed to everyone like a gust of wind sweeps away a bad toupee. We think there is something wrong with us and therefore try to conceal it.”
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH! I want to reread it every year!! If you’ve ever struggled with that little voice in your head. THIS IS THE BOOK TO READ.
“If with one breath all of this can change, then I want to. live at the highest level while I’m alive. I’m going to stop bothering the people that I love. I’m going to live and love from the deepest part of my being”
This was a beautiful piece of literature! The author is talking about what she has learned from the sea. It really makes you pause and appreciate the lessons we can take from nature!
“What a commentary on our civilization when being alone is considered suspect; when one has to appologize for it, make excuses, hide the fact that one practices it – like a secret vice”
I loved this book!! SO much history and amazing stories!!!
“It is fascinating to note how clothing so often played a role in resistance, as life-saving warmth, a heart warming gift, a hiding place or a disguise.”
I have this book on my coffee table and read it every morning while I have my tea! Short chapters but so much motivation!
“The things you love about others are the things you love about yourself. The things you hate about others are the things you cannot see in yourself.”
